A Review of the Book Half-Cut, A Police Thriller by Arnold Eslava-Grunwaldt

A complex mystery, combining thrilling police action and great characters, what kind of fanatic could you get more and more?

A suspenseful detective novel; The Half-Cut is a notable entry in the genre-growing suspense of police. Author Arnold Eslava Grunwaldt-book with this first novel, a well-orchestrated thriller embedded in the plot, portrays friendly characters and introduces readers to the central character of Hitchcock's "Ham" sergeant Ham, an experienced and wise detective in the Yonkers, New York Police.

Readers will immediately find themselves in the intense world of Sgt. Hitchcock, when the residence of Bernard "Barney" Bloemker is called. At first glance, Barney seems to have died of a heart attack. However, something seems out of place with the corpse when you notice that half of your head was shaved. Barney's conventional haircut did not fit inside the dish installed in his apartment. The mystery continues to grow, like a strange curiosity about Barney's corpse. The coroner noticed a telltale sign of arsenic poisoning indicating a much more sinister scenario began to develop; Bloemker's death may have been murder.

So, Hamilcar Hitchcock and his detective team in action. His team is an abundant group of different personalities who work hard to solve the deep mystery of Bloemker case. Anyway, it is not an easy case, the detectives struggle to advance the investigation into the death of Barney Bloemker while managing at the same time their own internal struggles. In the meantime, another organism "half way" comes up. Is there a link between death or, is there a serial killer in Yonkers? Hitchcock and his team face these questions and more with this bizarre murder case, which profoundly affected the past, but affects the current, dangerous and dramatic way.

In general, half-cut was a good reading material that I recommend to those who love police thrillers. I enjoyed being immersed in the unique story and watching the development of the drama while depriving the inner workings of a police investigation when faced with the worst of human nature and the best. The characterizations thought of were solid, realistic and emotionally evocative, which helped make this book a worthy read. In general, the author Arnold Eslava-Grunwaldt told a good story and I hope the next book in the series
